Empiricism versus Rationalism in the Arts
David Kesler
Empiricism is the "experience of the outside world"— site analysis, cultural analysis through the agency of "mapping". At its extreme it is reflected in purely figurative or representational work in all the arts. Rationalism is understood here as "internal thought process independent of exterior analysis". The danger here is purely autonomous work independent of culture or site. Abstract expressionism is one result. In this session we will discuss these two threads of artistic production as they relate to contemporary pedagogy.

In this hands-on training workshop you will learn academic "CPR"—emergency response techniques designed to prevent "Code Blue".

Online offices have integrated conference call numbers, and allow you to use web-cams for video, share documents, chat and more. Online offices are perfect for one-on-one or group meetings, and will save you a tremendous amount of travel time. In this session you'll learn how to request an online office, or use the office you already have. We'll review Online Office features and make sure you know who to contact for support and training.
