Teaching Tip | Week 3: Teaching Essentials


AAU’s Unique Student Body

As you have probably discovered, Academy students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Within a single class you may have recent high-school graduates, older adults seeking a career change, students with disabilities, and students from around the globe -- some of whom are not yet fluent in English. This diversity of cultures, ages, experience levels, and abilities can make for a rich teaching and learning environment. At the same time, it can make it particularly challenging to meet everyone’s needs and expectations. Following are some teaching strategies to help you reach, and more effectively teach, all of the students in your class:

LUNA Faculty Workshop – Fall 2009

Create dynamic slide shows with LUNA- the new digital image database managed by the Academy of Art University library. LUNA is an easy-to-use image database and presentation-making tool that supports Academy of Art University faculty teaching by creating amazing visual presentations that are ideal for classroom and research use!
