Gallery Walk Handout

Here's one great way to get everyone participating - and accountable - in an all-class critique. Make as many copies of the "Gallery Walk Critique" document as you have students in your class.

Name ______________________________________________________

Project Title _________________________________________________

Artist's Comments (What I especially want feedback on, what I want you to notice, production notes, etc.)_____________________________________________

» Then, have the students put up their work on display and have them tape this the Gallery Walk document next to their work (or in a lab classroom, on the desk next to their monitor where their work is displayed).

» Everyone in the class then walks around and writes brief feedback in each column (positive elements and suggestions for improvement) for one another-- to ensure full participation and accountability, you can have students write their initials after their comments. You as an instructor can also comment on these sheets.

» Students will then have written feedback from each person in the class on which they can base future changes and/or improvements in their work.

» Another option you can introduce is to have students turn in this completed sheet when they turn in their final project, so you can see what suggestions they have adapted.
