Enhancing Teacher-Student Interaction
Good communication is at the heart of good teaching. You'll want to be a supportive, professional leader for your students, but "leader" does not mean authoritarian, "professional" does not mean cold, and "supportive" does not mean that you need do a lot of handholding. Plan strategies for dealing with unproductive behavior, should it occur, and familiarize yourself with the resources available to you. As you think about teacher-student interaction, consider the wide range of backgrounds, abilities, learning styles and interests that exist among the Academy student body.
